The "You are born a sinner" lie. by steve montgomery

There is not one scripture in the bible that says a person is born a sinner.

Many people, including your church members and leaders teach this. Most teach this only because other false teachers have taught them. They dont give themselves to Gods word but study the bible casually and follow along at church.

Heres a question. Why would God throughout scripture say " Go and sin no more" and "without holiness no one will see the Lord" if we were born sinners? This, in light of all the scriptures that supposedly say you are born a sinner, has to raise a question. The bible is not a contradiction to itself.

If you are in agreement to this then only two other options exist.
1.Either God is an irrational tyrant or
2.something is wrong with the way the meaning of a scripture is understood.

Why most people dont understand scripture:

A. Most people dont study deep enough before resting on a belief handed to them by churches
B. All people need the Holy Spirits teaching. You must repent of all sin and trust and obey Jesus before the holy spirit can teach you the real truth. Most have not. C. Some scriptures need greek/hebrew translation to find the original meaning instead of the translators personal belief.

False Doctrines always raise questions that conflict with other scriptures.
False teachers always have to "MAKE A SCRIPTURE SAY" what they want instead allowing the bible to speak for itself.

Remember real truth of scripture never raises questions against itself. If it does, wait and dig deep before believing a doctrine.

Now the doctrine of original sin (born a sinner), is no different. You must meet the above criteria before settling on this issue. I will try to keep it short and simple. There is not one scripture that surely says we are born sinners or adams sin passed to all people. No not one.

1. Ephesians 2:3 We were all BY NATURE children of Wrath’..the greek "by nature" means: By long Practice, something learned, that becomes a habit, second natured.

2. Romans 2:14 BY NATURE’ DO the things contained in the Law. Same greek meaning and a conflict with Eph 2:3 on original sin, therefore born sinner..false.

3. Psalms 51:5 'Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me'. contradicts psalms 58:3 'The wicked are estranged from the womb; They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies'. these scriptures also are not all literal but figurative in poetry and songs.
therefore born a sinner? false.

I could go on but I wont. The Fallacy of Original Sin has brought the entire church to ruin. Untold multitudes sit in these systems of religion today blinded to their spiritual bankruptcy, believing they are being told the Truth! The Lie is passed down through the generations and never questioned or challenged. As though Moses himself brought it down from the Mountain etched in Stone. YET the Jews NEVER Taught it, Past or Present! Neither did the early Christians, the Disciples of the Apostles! ALL the Prophets railed against it. Jesus NEVER mentioned it. The truth is we are sinful because of what we do, not how we are born.

The bible says:

"For in the image of God made he man. Gen. 9:6

Man is the image and glory of God. I Cor. 11:7

Men are made after the similitude of God. James 3:9

Sin is not a defect in our dna from adam. How could it be from the above scriptures,
from the definition of sin in scripture, 1 john 3;4 " Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and is in lawlessness. James 4;17 "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin "

from the responsibility of turning from sin,

"The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools. . ." (Romans 1:18-22).

Dont believe the lie of original sin.
